Iceland Adventure
with The Unfiltered Traveler, LLC & G Adventures
1. Payment Terms
1.1 Deposit: A non-refundable deposit of $500 is required at booking to secure participation in the trip.
1.2 Deposit Deadline: Reservations are confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis upon receipt of the deposit.
1.3 Final Payment Deadline: The balance of the trip cost is due no later than June 12, 2026.
1.4 Payment Options: Participants may choose between:
Deposit + Final Payment (due June 12, 2026)
Deposit + Monthly Payments (beginning October 1, 2025, automatically drafted until paid in full)
2. Cancellation and Transfer Policy
2.1 Tour Cancellation: All payments, except the deposit, are refundable if canceled more than 90 days before the trip start date. Cancellations within 90 days of the trip start date are non-refundable.
2.2 Airfare Cancellation: Airfare cancellations are subject to the policies of the respective airline carrier.
2.3 Travel Insurance: Mandatory and nonrefundable.
2.4 Transfer of Reservation: Transfers of reservations are permitted up to 90 days prior to the trip start date. No transfers will be accepted after this deadline.
3. Participant Eligibility and Requirements
3.1 Gender Requirement: This trip is exclusively for women.
3.2 Age Requirement: All participants must be at least 18 years old at the time of travel.
3.3 Physical Fitness: Participants should be comfortable hiking up to 6 km (3.7 miles) on uneven terrain. Glacier hikes require sturdy hiking boots (rentals available).
3.4 Group Compliance: Participants must adhere to the group itinerary and follow instructions provided by guides and trip leaders. Individual deviations are not permitted.
3.5 Behavior: Disruptive, unsafe, or disrespectful behavior may result in immediate removal from the trip without refund.
3.6 Right to Refuse or Remove Participant: The Unfiltered Traveler, LLC reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to refuse participation or remove any individual from the trip if it determines that a participant’s conduct, health condition, physical preparedness, or overall behavior may negatively impact the safety, welfare, or experience of the group or trip operations. In such cases, no refund will be issued.
3.7 Misrepresentation of Fitness or Health: Participants are responsible for accurately representing their physical fitness, health conditions, and hiking readiness at the time of booking. Failure to disclose relevant medical or physical limitations may result in removal from the trip without refund if such conditions impact safety or group operations.
4. Passport, Visa & Entry Requirements
4.1 Passport Validity: Travelers must have a passport valid for at least six months beyond their arrival date in Iceland.
4.2 Entry Requirements: U.S. citizens do not require a visa for Iceland. ETIAS approval may be required beginning in 2026; participants are responsible for securing this if applicable.
4.3 Responsibility: Travelers are solely responsible for ensuring they meet all entry requirements into Iceland. Any concerns should be discussed with The Unfiltered Traveler prior to booking.
4.4 Passport Information: Passport details must be submitted by June 12, 2026 to ensure accurate travel arrangements.
5. Inclusions and Exclusions
5.1 Included Services:
• Meals: 6 breakfasts, 4 lunches, 2 dinners
• Accommodations: 5 nights hotels (shared rooms; “My Own Room” add-on available for $659, only 3 spots available)
• Guided experiences: Glacier hike, canyon hikes, waterfalls, black sand beaches, Brennisteinsalda volcano, hot spring soak, northern lights tour
• Transportation: Private group transport, airport transfers on arrival day and departure day
• Tips: For included activities and meals
5.2 Excluded Services:
• International airfare
• Trip protection/travel insurance
• Additional meals not specified in the itinerary
• Personal expenses and gear
• Optional add-ons (e.g., My Own Room upgrade, post-trip activities)
6. Code of Conduct
6.1 Respect: Participants are expected to show respect for local communities, guides, fellow travelers, and the environment.
6.2 Prohibited Activities: Possession or use of illegal drugs, participation in exploitative practices, or unsafe behavior will result in removal without refund.
7. Itinerary and Travel Adjustments
7.1 Weather Conditions: Iceland is known for rapidly changing and extreme weather. Itinerary adjustments may be made for safety or operational reasons.
7.2 Flexibility: The final itinerary is subject to change. Updated details will be provided prior to departure.
7.3 Minimum Group Size: A minimum of 8 participants is required for this trip to operate as a private group experience. If fewer than 8 participants are registered, the trip will still operate as a publicly offered G Adventures departure rather than as a private Unfiltered Traveler group. In such cases, group size, participant composition, and leadership structure may vary. No refund or compensation will be provided solely due to the trip operating as a public departure rather than a private group.
8. Travel Insurance
8.1 Mandatory Insurance: It is mandatory for all participants to have Emergency Medical insurance that includes both emergency evacuation and repatriation coverage, with a minimum limit of $200,000 USD.
8.2 Proof of Coverage: Participants must provide proof of valid insurance no later than August 11, 2026.
8.3 Additional Coverage Recommended: While not required, it is strongly recommended that participants also purchase trip cancellation, trip interruption, and baggage coverage for added protection.
9. Health and Vaccination Requirements
9.1 Vaccinations: No vaccinations are required for U.S. citizens at this time. Participants should consult their physician for general travel health precautions.
10. Flight Arrangements
10.1 Booking Responsibility: Participants are responsible for independently booking their international flights.
10.2 Optional Assistance: Rachel McDowell, The Unfiltered Traveler, LLC, can provide guidance and assistance with booking flights if requested. However, the final responsibility for booking, confirming, and managing flights rests with the traveler.
10.3 Arrival Coordination: Participants must arrive by 7:00 AM local time on Day 1 to join the group transfer. Flight delays will be addressed on a case-by-case basis.
10.4 Flight Delays or Changes: The Unfiltered Traveler is not responsible for costs or disruptions arising from flight delays, cancellations, or missed connections.
11. Optional Add-Ons
11.1 My Own Room: Available for $659 per person; only 3 spots are available. If selected, travelers will receive a private single room at all overnight stops.
11.2 Post-Trip Activities: Optional add-on activities may include a visit to the Icelandic Phallological Museum, the themed Phallic Café, and a day at a local spa.
12. Photo & Video Release
12.1 Consent: By joining this trip, participants grant Rachel McDowell and The Unfiltered Traveler, LLC, the irrevocable right and permission to use their image, likeness, voice, and appearance in photographs and video recordings taken during the trip.
12.2 Usage: These materials may be used for promotional, educational, or commercial purposes on websites, social media, print materials, or other platforms.
12.3 Compensation: Participants understand that they will not receive financial compensation, royalties, or any form of remuneration for the use of these materials.
12.4 Opt-Out Option: Travelers who wish not to be photographed or recorded must inform the trip leader in writing prior to departure. Reasonable efforts will be made to accommodate such requests, though complete avoidance cannot be guaranteed in group settings.
13. Liability Disclaimer
13.1 Acknowledgment of Risk: Participants acknowledge that activities such as hiking, glacier walks, and hot spring bathing carry inherent risks.
13.2 Liability: Rachel McDowell and The Unfiltered Traveler, LLC are not liable for injuries, accidents, illnesses, or losses sustained during the trip.
13.3 Third-Party Providers: The Unfiltered Traveler, LLC is not responsible for the actions or omissions of third-party service providers, including airlines, guides, and local operators.
13.4 Force Majeure: The Unfiltered Traveler, LLC is not liable for delays, changes, or cancellations due to natural disasters, weather, political events, pandemics, or other circumstances beyond control.
14. Northern Lights Tour
14.1 Inclusion: A guided Northern Lights tour is included on the final night of the Iceland 2026 trip. Participants will have the opportunity to chase the aurora borealis with experienced local guides.
14.2 No Guarantee: The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon and sightings cannot be guaranteed. Availability is subject to weather conditions, solar activity, and other factors outside the control of The Unfiltered Traveler, LLC.
14.3 No Refund: No refund or compensation will be provided if the tour is altered, rescheduled, or if the Northern Lights are not visible.
14.4 Participant Responsibility: Travelers should dress appropriately for cold weather and follow the instructions of guides during the tour.
