Hi, I’m Rachel, founder of The Unfiltered Traveler, and I help women travel with clarity,
preparation, and care so they can actually enjoy the experience instead of managing it.
But before I was a travel advisor, I was a leader in a very different way.
Hi, I’m Rachel, founder of The Unfiltered Traveler, and I help women travel with clarity,
preparation, and care so they can actually enjoy the experience instead of managing it.
But before I was a travel advisor, I was a leader in a very different way.
I spent 24 years in the military, leading people through complex, high-stakes situations where preparation, trust, and clear expectations mattered.
That experience shaped how I move through the world.
I’m honest.
I’m direct.
I think ahead.
And I care deeply about the people I’m responsible for.
For a long time, that leadership came with a certain hardness - because it had to.
As I’ve grown, I’ve learned that strength doesn’t have to be sharp to be effective.
Now, I lead with clarity and kindness.
That philosophy is at the heart of how I plan travel.

I’m also a wife, a mom, and a human who lives real life

I’m also a wife, a mom, and a human who lives real life
I'm a wife, a reader who loves quiet mornings with a good cup of coffee, and a mom to twin boys.
I'm also an adventurer at heart - though a deeply practical one. I've traveled solo, with friends, and as a mom, which means I understand firsthand how differently travel feels in different seasons of life.
Being a mom of twins has given me a front-row seat to logistics, mental load, and the particular kind of overwhelm that creeps in when you're trying to create meaningful experiences for the people you love. I know what it costs to plan badly, and I know what it feels like when everything comes together.
I don't believe travel has to be chaotic, performative, or exhausting to be transformative. I believe it should fit your real life.

I didn’t start this business to sell trips.
I started it because I saw how overwhelming travel
planning had become. It was too many options, too much noise, and not enough honest guidance.
I wanted to do things differently.
I wanted:
To plan travel intentionally
To avoid overtourism and mass-market chaos
To prioritize connection over checklists
To create experiences that feel thoughtful, ethical, and human
And I wanted to do it my way - with clear boundaries,
integrity, and care.
